REMPLOY Case Study
Pauline attended The Lennox Partnership Connect project after being made redundant from the Remploy factory where she had worked for 23 years, in a supported employment role, due to health issues. Pauline wanted a career change and was interested in securing work in the Care sector however was unsure how to go about this as she had worked in production for most of her adult life
With support from The Lennox Partnership Pauline met with our Remploy Consultant and discussed the skills which she had which are relevant to the Care sector and the certificates she would require to enhance her career opportunities. We organised for Pauline to sit her Health and Safety, Food Hygiene and First Aid certificate. Pauline also completed training on Epilepsy Awareness and Emergency Life Support training.
Through our partnership arrangements with the Remploy Work Choice project a vacancy was sourced for Pauline within Priory Park nursing home in Glasgow and after interview which we prepared her for Pauline successfully gained employment. Pauline is now working 22 hours a week and thoroughly enjoying her career change. We continue to provide aftercare for Pauline to ensure she is able to sustain her job.
